FOR ALL YOUR DENTAL NEEDS

Receiving a dental crown can be a daunting experience and one that you may not have felt comfortable with in the past. Our highly trained team strives to provide a calm environment and is committed to making your tooth crown procedure as stress-free and comfortable as possible. We are dedicated to delivering comprehensive family dentistry in Missouri City, TX that makes your visit to the dentist a positive one. Our team will provide you with an individualized treatment plan to ensure that you are well-informed of your dental crown procedure every step of the way.

What is a Dental Crown?

Dental crowns, also known as tooth or dental caps, are custom-made restorations that cover the entire surface of a damaged or decayed tooth. Effectively, they form a “cap” over the existing tooth structure in order to restore both its appearance and function. Dental crowns are used to repair teeth that have been weakened by decay, have cracked or chipped, or have discolored. Crowns can also be used to improve the appearance of misshapen teeth and cover dental implants. We use state-of-the-art materials to ensure the highest quality results for our patients.

When Dental Crowns are the Right Choice for You

At Lake Olympia Dental, we can use a dental crown to protect and strengthen teeth as well as restore them to their original shape and size. A tooth cap is used for both restorative and cosmetic purposes. Here are some of the most common scenarios when a dental crown could be the right choice for you:

  • When a large filling or cavity has weakened your tooth structure
  • To protect and strengthen teeth that are cracked, chipped or broken
  • After root canal therapy to restore the tooth to its original shape and size
  • To fasten dental bridges in place
  • As part of an implant restoration
  • To cover a discolored or misshapen tooth for cosmetic purposes

The Dental Crown Procedure

During the first visit, our team will take x-rays and evaluate your teeth to ensure a dental crown is the right treatment for your needs. We will then prepare your tooth by removing any decay and shaping it to make room for the crown. An impression is taken of your teeth so that a custom-made dental crown can be created in a lab.

Once we have received the finished product from the lab, you’ll come back to our office for the second visit. During this visit, our team will check the size and fit of your new dental crown, adjust it as needed, and then finalize its placement. With regular visits to Lake Olympia Dental for checkups and cleanings, we can monitor your crown’s condition and make sure it stays in good shape for years to come.

Dr. Dinh and his staff were amazing and they made the office a very welcoming and safe environment. I came in for a check up and teeth cleaning and was able to get 2 teeth extracted the same day as well.
Kenneth
I was in serious discomfort and needed relief for my pain. Dr. Dinh was extremely professional and diagnosed my problem quickly. The procedure was done with professionalism and was painless. I would recommend Lake Olympia Dental and Dr. Dinh to anyone that's having teeth issues immediately.
Gregory
I decided to visit Lake Olympia Dental because the office is closew to home and I saw all the positive reviews, and I can see why! It was a seamless experience for being a new patient. Dr. Dinh and his staff were very personable, making sure you're at easy and having an enjoyable experience. They know their stuff and know how to make your visit smooth and efficient. The office is brand new, very clean and modern. My first time seeing a TV on the ceiling for patients to watch as you're getting your teeth cleaned. They also give you a warm face towel at the end to help freshen up. I sometimes forgot I was at the dentist.
Jacob
I scheduled an emergency appointment today due to severe tooth pain and was able to be seen the same day. The office staff were very friendly and efficient, and the facility was new and clean. I appreciated how quick, yet thorough, my visit was. Most of all, I'm grateful for their late office hours, which made it possible for me to come in during the evening.
