Cleanings & Checkups
Our team is here to serve as a reliable partner in your oral health journey. We are committed to helping you take the best possible care of your teeth and gums, which starts with regular dental cleanings and checkups. Our dentist and hygienists provide comprehensive preventative treatments to keep your smile healthy, and use early detection to identify any potential issues before they become serious. With our personalized approach, you can be sure that your dental care is tailored to meet your specific needs and goals.
Patient comfort is a priority of ours for every visit. For even basic dental cleanings, we’ll take our time to make sure you’re informed and comfortable at every step for a healthier smile. Once we begin, we start the appointment with a close examination of your teeth and gums for any signs of decay or gum disease. Next, we’ll perform a thorough cleaning using specialized tools to remove plaque and tartar build-up from hard-to-reach areas. Finally, we’ll polish your teeth to make them look and feel their best. If additional treatment is needed, such as dental fillings, we provide same-day care when possible or can assist finding a convenient follow-up with you. With regular dental cleanings, you can rest assured knowing that your oral health is in good hands.
Simple and effective fluoride treatments may be suggested during your dental checkup to reinforce the health of your teeth. Fluoride nourishes teeth by allowing them to remineralize. This fights off cavities and can even reverse minor tooth decay for a stronger smile. Our fluoride treatments go a step further than over-the-counter toothpastes and tap water. We use a higher concentration of the mineral combined with monitored exposure to ensure your teeth receive the highest quality care.
During your dental exam, digital X-rays may be recommended. X-rays are essential imaging tools for properly assessing the health of teeth and gums beneath surface level. They’re especially valuable when assessing the health of your gums and roots for accurate treatment. Digital dental X-rays are only used when necessary, whether it’s for a yearly view beneath the crowns or more frequent monitoring of existing issues.
Your complete oral health is taken into account during your dental checkup. We provide quick oral cancer screenings for patients to catch signs of lip and mouth cancer at their earliest stages. A simple oral cancer assessment can be life-saving, allowing patients to receive treatment for the disease as soon as possible. Oral cancer symptoms may include white, red, or rough patches around your mouth or lip, areas that bleed easily without reason, chronic bad breath, or tenderness and pain on your face or mouth.
It’s recommended to make an appointment for a dental cleaning once every six months. Even if you have excellent hygiene habits at home, professional dental cleanings go a step further to preserve your oral health. Dr. Dinh and his team will remove build ups of plaque and tartar that aren’t treatable at home and pay close attention to catch potential problems before they can occur.
