The Porcelain Veneers Process

Applying veneers usually takes two separate visits between the initial consultation and then the procedure itself. During the first visit, we’ll discuss all of your options as well as take digital dental photos and impressions of your teeth so that we can design and create custom veneers to fit your unique smile. We’ll also discuss what you can expect during the procedure as well as recommend restorative treatments if necessary.

At the second appointment, your individualized porcelain veneers will be bonded to the front of your teeth in order to improve their shape and color. Our dentist will use a special curing light after bonding to make sure the veneers are hardened and securely in place. We will also check your bite and make any needed adjustments for a perfect fit. After this appointment, you can start enjoying your new smile with an improved aesthetic.

How Long Do Veneers Last?

Porcelain veneers typically last from five to ten years. To make sure they last as long as possible, avoid habits like teeth grinding and chewing hard objects such as pens or ice cubes. This can cause your veneers to prematurely chip and crack. Also, be sure to practice proper oral hygiene by brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and flossing daily.
